My absolute favorite thing to bring to a party, especially the neighborhood courtyard parties we love to throw, is a gallon of Margaritas. These things are killer. More than once, I've seen one of my neighbors throw his wife up over his shoulder and carry her home after a few of these...so proceed with caution. Leave the keys on the counter, pull up a lawn chair and enjoy right in your own backyard.
A Jug of Margaritas
6 cups tequila (you’ll need to buy two fifths for this)
2½ cups triple sec (just buy one fifth)
2½ cups fresh lime juice
2½ cups fresh lemon juice
2 cups of simple syrup (see below)
An empty gallon jug
Mix ingredients together in gallon container. Don’t forget to refrigerate! When ready to serve, pour mixture into a 16-ounce glass filled with ice. Salted rim is optional.
Makes 21 Margaritas
Simple Syrup
2 c granulated sugar
2 c boiling water
Dissolve sugar into water, refrigerate before adding to recipe. There's a reason they don't call it complicated syrup. :)
